Alpine
The alpine biogeographic regions include all the mountain ranges of Europe and therefore many different parts and countries are included. Alpine regions can be found in cold regions like Scandinavia and warmer ones like the mountains of the Balkan and reach its Western limit in the Pyrenees and the eastern ones in the Caucasus (when you look at the European biogeography). So you can imagine the diversity of this widespread environment can be great even through the rough conditions (high altitude, rugged terrain, and a relatively cold and harsh climate).
