Continental

Finding a good definition of the continental region is quite difficult, because the area is  large-scaled and so mutable. From a huge river system, to dry forests, highlands, and agricultural landscapes anything could fit into this region. That's the reason why I had huge problems picking the right images for this gallery so it's far away from being finished. Some of the most iconic European nature areas belong in here with beautiful water bird reserves, wild open land areas that inhabit big numbers of bugs and mosquitos. At least this is what comes into my mind when I think about continental habitats.
